What is AD (Alzheimer’s Disease)
Ad is a progressive brain disorder
that gradually
destroys a person’s memory and
ability to
learn, reason, make judgements,
communicate
and carry out daily activities.
As AD progresses,
individuals may also experience
changes in
personality and behavior, such
as anxiety,
suspiciousness or agitation,
as well as delusions
or hallucinations. Unfortunately
scientists
believe that whatever triggers
AD begins
to damage the brain years before
symptoms
appear. Once the symptoms begin
to appear
never cells that store and retrieve
information
have already begun to degenerate
and die.
It is hard to diagnose Ad in
the early stages.
The best advice is to stay informed
about
the disease and check with your
doctor if
you have concerns for yourself
or a loved
one.
